About the Products:
Neeraj Chopra is a name that will forever be etched in Indian sports history. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics his throw of 87.58 meters, which made him earn a Gold Medal, captured the imagination of over a billion Indians and brought Javelin Throw into the spotlight. However, his story traces back to much simpler beginnings. This book transports readers to Neeraj’s childhood in Khandra, Panipat, where the 13-year-old was an overweight teenager more interested in losing weight than modern sports. Weighing around 75 kilos, he became the butt of jokes, leading his family to enroll him at the local stadium to get active. It was here that Neeraj’s life changed forever. Introduced to javelin throw by older athletes, he instantly revealed a prodigious talent that left everyone stunned. What began as merely a way to get fit ignited an unexpected passion that he obsessively pursued with intense training and sacrifice. This book details the struggles of lacking resources, battling years of injuries and facing skepticism from society about his choice of sport. But Neeraj’s determination and work ethic helped him overcome every obstacle to etch his name in history.
